Things are still going pretty well here. I am dead
tired all the time but thats ok. My Spanish is coming along great.
I can't really speak it well but I can understand what people are saying for
the most part. I can read the scriptures in Spanish now but I don't get
quite as much out of it. And ya I will definitly be here until November 22nd.
They almost never transfer elders to the advanced classes and if they were to
do that, it would have been in week one.
Our lessons with the investigators are off and on.
Sometimes we feel great about it and sometimes not so much. Rob is struggling
right now because he wants to get baptized but his dad doesn't want him to.
With Arif, my companion and I seem to be doing a little better than the other
companionships.
My companion and I are the only ones going to NY from my
group. A few elders in our district are leaving the 21st or 23rd.
We just had two of the companionships in our district go to the Guatemala mtc
so it's a lot quieter now.
My sugars and everything are going pretty well. We've
got tons of food and not a lot of time to eat it so slow down a bit on that.
But ya I'm pretty excited about Tanner, if he is coming in
on the nineteenth, there's a great chance he will be in my zone (we are losing
a whole district and are already down like two half districts), which means we
will have our classrooms next to each other, and be on the same schedule for
classes and gym and p-day, which includes temple. And there's a chance
his residency room is right next to mine.
The speaker at devotional this week was Julie Beck.
She was kind of boring. She speaks kind of monotonously and some of her
stories didn't seem to relate. She talked a lot about marriage -- to
missionaries. And she tried to relate the new relief society book,
Daughters of the Kingdom, to the priesthood. It was quite a stretch and a
lot of people were falling asleep, especially since Tuesdays my zone has 6 am
gym. Oh and I forgot to tell you guys, my room is on the third floor of
our residency building, which we go to a few times a day, and my classroom is
on the fifth floor of the building, which we climb to at least three times a
day. I'm going to be in great shape when I leave.
Love you guys,
Elder Pearce
