October 20, 2011

There are a lot of cool pictures you can take at the MTC.  The laser picture is just a scripture marker and the camera flash.  We've been doing a lot of light sabers and whatnot with those.  The ironing boards in the residences are where we took the picture of me throwing Elder Burkey.  A lot of people take pictures doing backflips off the wall with that, their jackets hanging down to cover the board.  We did some where it looks like people are using the force to lift people up and some where they're just levitating.

But that's good that Tanner's not coming in until next week. On Sunday we found out our new district are all going to Puerto Rico or Argentina.  But we're losing another district next week so we will have more open space.  But Jeff Elsey moved into the room next to mine.  It's nice seeing familiar faces even if you don't know them that well.  Another note, the new district's teacher is one of the river rafting guys from last summer so that was cool to see him again.

And yes dad, Nuestro querido Padre Celestial comes out much easier now than our dear Heaven Father.  It was weird when I realized that, but I guess that's good.  I gave my first blessing last night (I did that in English).  My companion had a nasty cough and asked for one.  I was pretty nervous but it worked out well.  And he's doing a lot better today.

Our devotional Tuesday was Elder Scott.  That was amazing.  The lesson was about the Spirit and when he bore his testimony at the end it was incredible.  They actually turned the air conditioner back some so that made it even better (last week the powers that be decided that after one cold day two weeks ago it was winter so we have to wear our jackets everywhere now and they turned off the ac.  I have been literally sweating in some of my classes.  One of the computer labs that we had to be in for an hour was probably around 85-90 degrees and the Sunday devotional was above 80. (And that devotional the district president's wife went on for a half hour about table manners. It was miserable.)

Anyway, off my rant, I don't know about our investigators.  Rob doesn't seem like he's progressing at all.  I'm almost to the point that I want to drop him but I don't think we will.  Arif got stuck last lesson on the fact that even though his wife was an amazing person she is going to hell because she wasn't baptized.  We never said that.  We never even got that far into the lesson.  A few times we told him that if his wife was an amazing person then there is no way that she is in hell.  But I think once we finish the lesson it might clear up some of the issues.

Daily life... ummm... we sit in class 3-6 hours a day, have an hour of gym most days, Wednesdays we have an hour of service, then other than meal times it's all just study.

(the spanish keyboard doesn't work on this computer so the accents wouldn't work which makes my grammer terrible but you get the idea).

Love you guys, Sean
