Dear Familia,
Well it sounds like you guys have had a really fun week in
Hawaii. We have been being entertained by craziness here. I think I found the trump card of craziness and
his name is Lucas McCain. I have met a LOT of crazies in Jamaica but
Lucas beats them all. I won't even attempt to give a full description of him
but I think a few quotes will have to suffice, "I... Hate... People!!!
They are all here getting in my way in my world.", "What nationality
are you Lucas?" "I'm a star... I'm a STAAAAAAAAR!", "Now listen
here knuckle breaths". He also graced us with a few musical numbers with
the forward of, "You'll probably see me on TV in a few months so you guys
are getting a freebee here." Elder Scoffield sneakily got a video of about
ten minutes of our conversation that I will try to send to you guys but it
really misses a lot of the good body language and a lot of the good
lines. Anyway that was about the most exciting thing that happened on
Tuesday.
Not much really noteworthy happened between Tuesday and Saturday.
But on Saturday we finally got our investigator count up from zero to two.
Whoo! We got a member referral for a girl and we went over there and found them
at home and taught her and her mom. They are both really cool and open to the
message. It will be fun to work with them for a while because we also got
transfer calls on Saturday and I am staying in Jamaica. Elder Scoffield is
leaving though so I will get another new companion. He is going ZL in zone nine
which is the far end of Long Island. But that means my last 3 companions have
gone ZL plus I wouldn't be surprised if Elder Sterling went ZL this transfer
because a lot of them are going home tomorrow. If that happens it will be a
clean sweep. All four of my comps going ZL.
Sunday was pretty good. Church was good and there was a
double baptism after. One is technically a stake baptism because she is eight
and her dad is a member (less active) but she got baptized because of the
missionaries. The other was the daughter of the woman who got baptized two
weeks ago. It all went pretty well.
Today has mostly been spent packing with Elder Scoffield.
That is about it for this week.
Love you guys,
Elder Pearce
