Transfer to a Diverse Area

May 20, 2013

Alright so this weeks email is going to have to be short. Not because we don't have a good place but because we are really busy today.

So I am in Dyker Heights (Brooklyn), which is right next to Midwood, and where you can walk from Israel through China to Mexico. It is amazing how chopped up this area is. We live on 4600 Ninth Ave (I think), right on the border of Israel and China. You go to 8th Ave, it is 100% chinese. Make it down to fifth, Mexico. This is a really big ward compared to what I have been in (about 200 active members), and has functional leadership, which is another thing I have to get used to. We have a good English class going on here. A couple of investigators.

My companion is Elder Hernandez, who is from Honduras but has lived for the last few years in Rhode Island. He is awesome. He came in my last transfer in Rockaway and we went on a few mini exchanges. He is amazing and getting people's information and getting follow up appointments. We have knocked on three doors with people home. We have 1 new investigator and 2 potentials from it now. He is amazing.

I will tell you about Rose next week.

Sorry this is short,

Love you all
Elder Pearce
