Softened Heart

Alright so this week was a little bit more exciting.

So we taught the C family twice this week and they are still in about the same position they have been. The first lesson Ernesto was sick so we only taught Norma, then on the second they switched. So it was essentially just one lesson we taught to each of them at different times.

But in other news, last Saturday, after we did all of the less-active lookups, we went over to the O family to try and set up an appointment, we talked to the dad and he told us we could come back on Monday. We went over but were only able to teach the kids.

Then on Tuesday in district meeting we got a call from Angela, the mom, and I am not sure that I am understanding her right but I got that we needed to go over to her mother-in-law's (the member) apartment at five. So we headed over and I did understand her correctly. She needed me to call the precinct to see if her husband was still being held there, or if he got moved to another facility. Alright. Anyway he was released on Wednesday morning and they invited us over on Thursday night. We had a good lesson with the whole family and then another on Saturday. The parents are now interested in the church and are fully investigating. Wooh!

We had dinner with his mom (the member) and talked with her about the situation and apparently when we went over last Saturday and talked at the door with the dad, we looked like we had put in a lot of miles that day and our haggard looks softened his heart. And that with the combination of a day in prison has led him to look into the church again. I guess if that's what it takes we will roll with it.

Other than that it was a fairly standard week. We did deep clean on Friday and helped some members move. Basically we just shoved as much stuff as we could on to an elevator over and over until everything was moved.  Church was really empty yesterday for some reason. No investigators and not even very many members showed up. Who knows? And ya no Cinco de Mayo celebrations. And today we are going to go down to the beach at Coney Island again.

Love you,
Elder Pearce
