Dear Familia,
Well I still haven't been able to find Connor's Christmas
present that I wanted to get him (apparently there is a place in zone 3 that
has it but it's a pain to get over there), but we got him a good birthday
present. We got our first baptismal commit for Feb 4 --on Connor's
birthday! Misael was finally able to get Sundays off. We are really
excited about that. Ana is still progressing really slowly. We are
still struggling to find new investigators though.
Elders Graham and Trainor got blinded out and Elders Cabanilla
and Carnohan got blinded into their place as our new ZL's. I've learned
in this last week that Midwood for years has had the reputation of being the
"oh you're going to Midwood, good luck." area. Elder Carnohan
got sent here to change that. He just finished his six months as AP and
he is probably the best missionary in the mission. Not only have they
been finding new people almost daily, they have been pushing the rest of the
zone to follow in their wake. It is really cool just to see how much
different the attitude of the missionaries can change the entire dynamic of an
area. And then we found out that in the latest Ensign, President Monson
gave a talk about the exact same things they spoke on (attitude, desire,
faith) in our combined district meeting.
In other news we have moved back into our bed bug pad on Monday.
We found a few more but the exterminator came back for the follow up visit and
hopefully got the rest. We are at the point where we just don't care
anymore. If we find them we kill them (we have been getting more creative
in our killings, our latest method, the good old cologne+match flame thrower)
but we aren't really going out of our way to find them anymore.
Love you guys
Elder Pearce
