Attitude Makes Such a Big Difference

March 19, 2012

Dear Familia,

Alright, to start off, Dad, the lessons have changed a lot in regards to the Atonement.  The actual Atonement section is in the Plan of Salvation (lesson 2) but we are taught to apply the Atonement to every principle we teach. Like in the first lesson the order of the Principles is God is our Loving Heavenly Father, the Gospel Blesses Families, God Reveals His Gospel in Every Dispensation, etc.  So we teach God is our loving Heavenly Father.  He loves us so much that he sent his Son to atone for our sins.  Through the power of the Atonement our families can become stronger and more united.  Prophets throughout history have taught us about Christ, and how we can be made clean through His sacrifice for us.  Everything we teach we try to tie back to the Atonement because that is how people are truly changed.

With transfers, we haven't heard anything yet.  Our zone leaders haven't got any calls yet which is really weird and since it is just two of us at the pad now the rumor mill has slowed down a lot.  The official transfer calls come on Saturday.  Most of the rumors are about who is going to be the next AP.  Elder Hall and Elder Cabanilla are the odds on favorites.  I think it will be Elder Hall but a lot of missionaries say that he and Elder Kinikini won't work well together so it will be Cabby.  We will see though.  As for me, I see myself at about 50/50 whether I move or not.  I have a feeling that I am leaving but I could easily stay for another transfer.

Stories for the week.  The kids were starting to have second thoughts about being baptized so we talked to them.  Turns out most of their concerns were about things like they thought the water was going to be really cold or that we wouldn't be strong enough to hold them up and we would drop them in the water.  The bigger one is 75 pounds.  I'm more worried about Antonio, who is probably about 275. We assured the kids that everything would be alright and they are feeling better now.  So ya our ward could have 5 baptisms this next week.  The two kids, Antonio, then the ZL's have 1 solid and 1 maybe.  By the end of this week, this ward will have 8 or 9 baptisms so far this year.  They only had 8 for all of last year. With Sister Moncur gone I'm the only one who remembers those earlier slow days. That's weird how much change there has been.  Attitude makes such a big difference.

Anyway, we're off to the zoo,

Love you guys,
Elder Pearce
