Dear Familia,
First off I wanna say sorry to
everyone who has written me in the past couple of weeks, it has been really
busy and I haven't been able to write back to very many of you. And I won't
have any time today either. We have the Preach My Gospel bowl today in Woodside,
which takes between and hour and a half to two hours to get to by train (And no
I can't write the letters on the train unless you don't want to be able to read
them).
Well this week... we got two
more baptismal commits -- the children of Angela and Rosendo. Normally we
don't like baptizing kids without the parents but the parents can't be baptized
yet and the kids really want to and Angela promised to fully support them, take
them to church on Sundays and everything so they will be baptized on the 25th.
We haven't been able to set up a temple date with Claudia yet because the
baptistry opens at 11 and she needs to be back by two and it takes a little
over an hour to get there, so we don't think there will be enough time.
We will get it figured out though. Unfortunately we have lost contact
with Misael so we don't know when we will be able to do anything with
him. We think his phone got stolen and he started going back to work on
Sundays >:^(
Remember that lady that hadn't
been to church in five years that we reactivated? Well in that first visit we
asked her for a referral and she gave us one of her friends. We have been
teaching her. She is a 69 year old Puerto Rican. She is really smart, she
writes down all of her questions and everything. We could have something
going with her within the next few weeks.
Other than that it hasn't been
a very exciting week. Member work is slowly picking up which helps us a
lot. We had mega zone conference on Wednesday (all of zone's 1,2,3 which
is all of Brooklyn and Staten Island), that was good. Keep me updated
about things over there.
Love you guys,
Elder Pearce
