Putting Good Mileage on my Shoes

Alright so this week has been pretty good. I think I say that just about every week but that's fine.

Last Monday we went to the zoo like I talked about and that was pretty fun. Then we went over to the C family that night and had a good lesson. So the lesson before that when I was on exchanges, Ernesto asked something about baptism and so Elder Rodgers left them with 2 Nephi 31 to read. So this lesson we talked more about that and then read Mos 18:8-10 and talked about the baptismal covenant. Then asked them, "what have ye against being baptized?" Ernesto gave his normal excuses and said he wasn't ready, but Norma said that she wants to, and said that she feels really bad for not coming to church the last few weeks. So we are thinking that now, instead of focusing the lessons on Ernesto to try to bring him up to Norma, we are going to just move forward with Norma and hope Ernesto keeps up. Also in that lesson, their daughter, Lupe, came in about half way through to listen, and after the lesson asked if we could teach her kids when we go over. She said she isn't interested, but she wants her two sons to grow up religious. So we are teaching them now too. They are 7 and 4 years old so we aren't going to get any baptisms out of it soon but Lupe sits in on all the lessons so we will see if she starts to get any more interest. Either way it shows that they are all really starting to trust us now. We went over again on Wednesday and had another good lesson.

Pretty much all available time for the rest of the week was spent advertising for the movie night they surprised us with. They told us last Sunday that we were going to have another one on Friday. So we made a desperate rush to get everything arranged. We did, though not very many people showed up. The C family came in about half way through which was cool. We watched Brave and then shared a message about families, which went well. And the ward is really excited about it now and I'm not sure but it sounds like they want to do it every other week. So that will be fun.

On Saturday the ward organized an inactive blitz which we participated in. Put in some good mileage on my shoes. We didn't have too much success but it was fun.

Then Sunday the O family came to church again, which was nice, though the C family still didn't.

And for English class, the ward has decided to just take it over and do it themselves, which kind of defeats the purpose but we will see how it goes.

For your questions, some new socks would be nice. Those Missionary Mall socks are very nice for walking around. My feet have been suffering a bit lately so new socks would probably be a good thing.  And my shoes are holding up very well, much better than most missionary shoes. I should be able to finish the mission just fine with what I have now. One of my pairs is getting close to death. Probably about another month or so of heavy walking, so I have just decided to burn those out. My other pair still has good life left though.

And ya, that's about it for this week.

Love you all,

Elder Pearce
