Chinese Lessons

So this week was pretty good.

On Tuesday we had a good lesson with Carlos and Delmis, who we have been meeting with on and off while I have been here. We went over to a member's house with them and had a good lesson, so we will see where they go from here.

Wednesday and Thursday we spent a lot of time getting the script together for the Restoration concert we are going to do next week. It should be really good. And I should actually be able to watch it this time unlike the one I planned in Rockaway and then got transferred.

Then on Friday we spent some time planning for our skit for the talent show that night. Then they cancelled it because of rain. The cancelled the indoor activity. Because of rain. Wait what? Ah well.

On Saturday we had leaders meeting in the morning, then went out and did a chinese street sweep for the english class. I got pretty good and saying free english class in chinese. Also, Sean in chinese (spelled Shan but pronounced the same) can mean, depending on the intonation, Mountain, Dodge, Fan, or Kind-hearted. Pretty cool name. Other members of my district weren't so lucky. One of the sister's names, Dawn, can mean single, pale, gall bladder, or a crude slang word. Elder Hernandez's name, Bilzan... Zan means umbrella, Bil is also a dirty slang word. Well we can't all be Dodge Mountain (Shăn Shān).

On Sunday we spent most of the time between a less active and the not yet baptized member's house. He is so cool and loves the church. He just can't get Sundays off. Even though he has worked at the place for 16 years, they still won't give him Sundays off. He says that by Christmas if they still haven't, he is going to quit. Also, little side note for Rachel, they have twin girls probably about 18 mo to 2 years old that are super cute. I will get some pictures some time to send you.

Oh and last Monday we did not do the wing challenge because there were some missionaries from another area visiting and so we stayed at the church and played basketball with them, which was fun. The challenge will be next week. Today is zone activity. We will also be celebrating Hna. Sanchez's birthday today.

We weren't able to meet with Eloina and her boyfriend this week so still working on that.

Well that's all for this week.

Love you all.
Elder Pearce
