Alright, so this week has been pretty good.
Last Monday we went on the Staten Island Ferry like I said
and that was fun. When we got back to the platform we saw on the news there
about the bombing. We really aren't that shielded from the news here. Just going
about our normal work over the next few days we were able to follow the
investigations and the lockdown and everything. Anyway that night we went back
over to the C family and talked to them about Enos and how he received his
answer through his great faith. So that lesson went pretty well.
On Tuesday we got some good knocking in and found some good
potentials, set up some appointments etc.
On Wednesday we were really excited because we had service
in the morning, which is always fun. We
always work at Prospect Park and do whatever odd-jobs they have for us. From
raking to weeding to building fences and cutting down trees. It's fun though.
Then the rest of that day we had appointments. Our first
appointment was with a man we knocked into. Turned out he was baptized a few
years ago but stopped going because of health problems. So hopefully we will be
able to make arrangements to get him back to church here soon. Next we went to
the O family which was good. It was the first time we were able to sit down
and talk with them since my first week back. Unfortunately we weren't able to
talk to the parents at all to try and get them back. Then after that we had the
C family but they called five minutes before to cancel. So we ended up just
doing some more lookups.
On Thursday we did some more trash pickup around the
neighborhood and then weekly planning and some more lookups.
On Friday I was on exchanges with Elder Kitchen and we spent
most of the morning helping out some recent converts spring clean. Elder
Rodgers also went with Elder Adams to the C family. It was a good chance for
them to get some teaching in on their own.
On Saturday we spent most of our day with some members
helping them get their backyard turned into a garden. A lot of good service
this week.
Sunday once again the C family didn't come. So this week it
is time to really decide if we will keep teaching them. Today it sounds like we are going to be going
to the zoo, which should be fun.
I think that's about it.
Love you all,
Elder Pearce
